Frimley Park Hospital TEO Kit Presentation (December 2013)

A TEO Kit was purchased for the Department of Colorectal Surgery.

Mark Gudgeon, Consultant General Surgeon, said: “Heartfelt thanks to KatCanDo for raising the money for the TEO kit. It will allow us to perform two such cases on a list and means we have a back up if one system needs repair. With bowel cancer screening we are finding more small early cancers and this system allows us to remove benign growths and early cancers without the need for major abdominal surgery. The effort you and your team make in our behalf is extraordinary and allows us to develop the skills and techniques not readily available in many hospitals.” See media release for more details.

November / December Events (December 2013)

Several fundraising events were held during November and December, starting with a stall at the Xmas Craft Fayre held at the Camberley Theatre where we sold cakes, KatCanDo books and ran a tombola.

This was followed by staff from Irwin Mitchell, solicitors, running in a sponsored Capital Runners Richmond Park 10k event.

The Brightlight Theatre Company put on a production of Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’ with a percentage of the takings going to KatCanDo.

Finally we had a very successful bag packing day at Waitrose, Frimley, a couple of days before Christmas.

Together with selling Christmas cards again this year (with special thanks to Triland Metals) several thousand pounds have been raised by KatCanDo over these couple of months. THANK YOU to all those who helped and supported these events.
